Common Interest Communities and Associations
Sherman & Howard's real estate attorneys represent developers
in connection with the preparation of master and project
declarations, association formation and the crafting of bylaws,
design guidelines, rules and regulations and other association
documents for a variety of development-types, including
residential, retail, hospitality, fractional ownership, industrial
and office projects. We have an extensive understanding of the
Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act and its implications for
developers and associations, and we provide advice to each
regarding related management issues. We also represent owners'
associations in connection with novel issues affecting the
associations and their members including the re-development of
pre-Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act condominium projects;
the negotiation of management agreements between fractional
ownership project associations and hotel operators; and the
purchase of undeveloped expansion property.
