John Low Honored by Public Education Business Coalition

May 10, 2010, DENVER - Sherman & Howard announces that John Low, a member in the firm's Banking Practice, is one of three recipients of the Public Education Business Coalition's (PEBC) Cal Frazier Investing in Education Award for 2010. Mr. Low received this award at the PEBC's Annual Business & Education Luncheon held Thursday May 6 in the Korbel Ballroom of the Colorado Convention Center.

The Cal Frazier Investing in Education Award was established to honor those members of the education and business communities who most embody a genuine and passionately held belief that our public education system is one of our democracy's most valuable assets. PEBC calls these award recipients "true public education visionaries" who "demonstrate profound leadership on issues affecting academic achievement."

Mr. Low has represented clients in banking and business law matters for nearly 60 years. He received his law degree from University of Denver and his bachelor's degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University. He is a Director Emeritus and former Chair of the Public Education and Business Coalition. In addition, he is Chair of the Advisory Board of the Denver Regional Office of the Institute of International Education and a Director of the Institute of International Education. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of the University of Denver, President of the Colorado Symphony Foundation and Chair of First Plymouth Foundation. He is a former Chair of the Mesa Verde Foundation. He has also served as Chair of the Denver Symphony Association and Vice Chair of the Colorado Symphony Association, Chair of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of a Denver bank and a Member of the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation.
