Sherman & Howard's Labor & Employment Law Department invites you to attend a complimentary breakfast and discussion.
The OFCCP has proposed new regulations for federal government contractors and subcontractors dealing with affirmative action for military veterans. These proposed regulations dramatically change the landscape facing federal contractors and subcontractors and significantly increase their obligations with respect to affirmative action for our veterans.
Among other things, the new regulations will require:
- Calculating and establishing numerical hiring benchmarks
- Keeping detailed data on the referral, application and hiring of veteran candidates
- Entering "linkage agreements" with referral sources
While contractors and subcontractors undoubtedly support the regulations stated goal of increasing employment opportunities for covered veterans, it is essential that federal contractors and subcontractors clearly understand what they will begin facing July. This program will discuss the soon-to-be-final rules and will clarify contractors' and subcontractors' obligations.
