Representative Matters
- Trial lawyer with over twenty years experience in a wide range of complex commercial and business matters, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, antitrust, professional negligence, business valuation and dissenter's rights, bank fraud, labor, employment, environmental contamination, partnership and corporate dissolutions, real estate disputes, and construction matters.
- Patent litigation background includes representation of a preeminent academic institution for over a three year period beginning in 2001 in two separate lawsuits and an arbitration. The chemical patent family at issue included catalysts for which the principal inventor was co-awarded the Nobel Prize for Chemistry. The cases involved both prosecution of patent infringement claims and defense of a second lawsuit involving the same patent family and related licensing issues, including intimate coordination of defense with a patent licensee in a "bet the company" setting.
- Representation of local mechanical patentees, including successfully securing a preliminary injunction against continued infringement in an evidentiary hearing before Chief Judge Lewis Babcock of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.
- Extensive complex trial experience, including a recent seven-week jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, a five week trial to the court in Denver District Court, and many shorter jury and court trials.
