Representative Matters
- Organized and performed a fiduciary review and administrative review of a large publicly held company's five qualified retirement plans and presented findings and recommendations to the company's employee benefit plan committee.
- Restated numerous qualified retirement plans to comply with amendments to ERISA and the Internal Revenue Code.
- Reviewed and revised deferred compensation arrangements subject to Internal Revenue Code Section 409A for various clients.
- Advised clients maintaining welfare benefit plans regarding compliance with ERISA (including reporting and disclosure issues), COBRA (including notice and coverage requirements), HIPAA (including nondiscrimination, portability, and privacy and security requirements), the Internal Revenue Code (including nondiscrimination requirements and cafeteria plan rules) and Medicare Part D.
- Advised clients regarding qualification issues in retirement plans and submitted applications to obtain IRS approval of correction of errors discovered in qualified plans.
