Representative Matters

  • Represents leading Smart Grid, Distributive Energy Services, Solar and Biofuel-related companies and assists various start-up cleantech enterprises, including those involved with electric drive vehicles, solar and alternative energy parks and waste-to-energy projects, as well as companies seeking to market the commercially viable use of hydrogen technology. 
  • Experience in electric utility law including representation of one of the three largest publicly-owned electric utility holding companies in the country, involving multi-state/multi-jurisdictional transactions and regulatory proceedings, including transmission and distribution issues, merger and acquisition, rate cases, fuel reconciliation cases, and fixed fuel factor cases, with significant work addressing nuclear reactors and nuclear fuel contracts.
  • Extensive experience in most aspects of telecommunications law, including interconnection agreements and wireless telecommunications issues.
  • One of five regional outside counsel for the largest US wireless company.
  • Experience in contested case and rulemaking proceedings before state agencies, judicial review of agency orders before state and federal courts, and judicial proceedings regarding agency actions.
  • As Mayor of Manitou Springs, participated on behalf of the City in all aspects of the Colorado Governor's Energy Office initiatives to implement sustainable energy strategies. 
  • Involved in efforts to measure City of Manitou Springs' carbon footprint; define and implement greenhouse gas emission reduction program and participated in ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability and Cities for Climate Protection Campaigns to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
